Your Next Opportunity:

Northeast Health Wangaratta is looking for a full-time Medical Imaging Manager based in Wangaratta, Victoria. This pivotal role, reporting to the Executive Director of Medical Services, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Radiology department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services.

As the Medical Imaging Manager, you will lead an expanding department that is critical to our growth. You will be instrumental in shaping the next phase of our expansion, especially with our new imaging technologies. You'll manage a 59-person department, including four modality leads, in a role that requires both strategic oversight and a practical understanding of imaging services.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Directing the development, implementation, and review of department plans and policies
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality radiology services through appropriate staffing and supervision
  • Participating in the Medical Imaging Technologist roster as required
  • Coordinating the development and maintenance of systems for effective department management
  • Developing and preparing monthly reports for senior management
  • Ensuring departmental compliance with all relevant policies and regulatory requirements

What You'll Bring to the Team:

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging) or equivalent and a relevant postgraduate qualification. A minimum of 2 years of experience in health services management is also essential.

This role is ideally suited to someone with previous experience as a director of a large department, who is a change-maker ready to drive our next phase of growth. Your leadership experience and capacity to develop others are essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Sound knowledge of digital imaging, e.g., RIS/PACS
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk management
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • A current National Police Check
  • A current Employer Working with Children Check
